FM / UL alone is not sufficient.
FM / UL certification or ASTM reports alone do not establish
IS compliance or Indian authority approval.
A 2-hour wall needs a 2-hour seal.
Seal gaps around cables and pipes with a tested firestop.
The seal must match the fire rating of the wall or floor.
Part F, 3.5.4.4: minimum 120 minutes for applicable cable/conduit openings.
NBCS 2026 replaces NBC 2016. State bye-laws and local fire-authority requirements
govern project acceptance.
