Blast furnace 8 પાસે equipment fault પછી આગ લાગી. Coal-handling અને electrical equipment ને નુકસાન થયું. ઈજાઓની સંખ્યા સ્પષ્ટ નથી.

Maintenance ચાલુ હતું ત્યારે coke-oven gas pipeline માં blast થયો. પછીના CAG-audit report મુજબ 14 મૃત્યુ નોંધાયા અને સલામતી વ્યવસ્થાની ટીકા કરવામાં આવી.
પસંદ કરેલા reports; આંકડા linked sources પ્રમાણે છે. આ ઘટનાઓ EC 43 ની performance સાબિત નથી કરતી.
